Key CSR initiatives
Charity and corporate social responsibility in the broadest sense are an important part of MODIVO SA's activities. We believe that we have a real impact on the reality around us, so we attach great importance to local actions and undertake a variety of CSR-related initiatives. We engage in large cyclical projects and initiate our own. We take care of our employees and mutually motivate each other to work towards a sustainable business.
We listen to the needs of various institutions, organizations, and foundations, and support them accordingly. With a sense of responsibility, we have adopted a Donation Policy that governs matters related to the donation process within our organization. This helps us better address reported needs.
We prioritize local activities. For years, we have been supporting the Children's Home in Kożuchów, donating clothing, footwear, and computer equipment. We work to level the playing field for children by hiring tutors, rewarding the best students with scholarships, offering internships, and providing educational aids. We also make sure to fulfill children's wishes by organizing special occasion packages and sponsoring swimming pool and sports event passes. Our initiatives were recognized in 2022 by the Lubusz Voivode in the "Społecznik Roku" ("Volunteer of the Year") competition.
We have also undertaken a number of relief efforts for those affected by the war in Ukraine. We participated in a collection organized by WoshWosh. We donated PLN 250,000 to the Polish Humanitarian Action and provided medical supplies, which reached Ukraine in a convoy. We supported the Caritas Center for Assistance to Migrants and Refugees of the Zielona Góra and Gorzów Diocese in Zielona Góra and the Marshal's Office of the Lubuskie Province with in-kind donations. We also take care of our employees affected by this tragic situation.
In 2022, we donated almost 10,000 products to over 20 social organizations. We also encourage our employees to get involved through initiatives such as the charity Christmas raffle and the internal IDEABOX project. Every year, we join the Noble Gift and participate in auctions for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. We also cooperate with the Warsaw-based Daj Herbatę (Give Me Tea) foundation, which we provide with product support.
Our activities have been recognized by the Responsible Business Forum. The latest report included as many as 10 good practices implemented in the MODIVO Group.
As a European e-commerce leader in the sale of clothing, footwear, and accessories, combining the offerings of eobuwie.pl and MODIVO, we initiate environmentally friendly solutions. Aware of the fashion industry's impact on the environment, we strive to minimize the negative footprint on the supply chain. Our sustainable activities include both internal and external processes.
We have introduced biodegradable and 100% recyclable paper packaging, which allows us to reduce plastic consumption in the logistics area and save warehouse space. Thanks to paper packaging, we can save 15,000 trees, which will produce oxygen for over 150,000 people – that's more than the population of Zielona Góra.
In cooperation with InPost, we have provided customers with EkoBox – reusable packaging. The boxes, made of certified cardboard, have a lifespan of up to 10 cycles, through which we promote a closed-loop economy model and reduce the amount of cardboard used. We aim to minimize waste by reducing the use of stretch film and an environmental management system. We employ bulk recyclable packaging and metal roll pallets.
Thanks to the Try Before You Pay service and the unique concept of our hybrid stores, we optimize order logistics. Products from the online offer can be tried on in our offline stores. The customer pays only for the items they ultimately decide to buy.
In 2023, we joined the circle of Strategic Partners of the Responsible Business Forum – the largest non-governmental organization in Poland focusing on corporate social responsibility issues. We also became a partner of the Climate Positive (UNGC) program, which identifies and assists businesses in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
